Health education???? What is the aim of it???
It is voluntary adaptation of a person after getting correct information, changing negative attitude & acquiring skills….
As a part of our clerkship appointment we got a chance to educate people regarding health problems.
It’s a group of girls who live at “shilpa”, a children development centre.
First we divide ourselves into 4 groups. We got the age group 19-21 as our group.
According to the information that we got from the department there are 10 girls under that group.

First challenge was finding a topic for our session. Then after having few group meetings (ooops!! I must say that they were not that serious meetingzz:) )
So we decide to talk/teach them on “stress management”. We thought that we can talk more health problems (physical & mental) under this topic.

Then we arrange our session under few sub topics
·         Introduction
·         Effects of stress
·         Finding solutions for Common problems
Problems in day to day life
Educational & occupational problems
            Problems regarding reproductive health
·         Meditation session

So we prepared a small power point presentation with lot of pictures regarding our topic.

We reached to “SHILPA” children development centre at around 9 am on Wednesday, 22nd of august. But there were only 5 girls under over age group. So we start the session after asking their names, what sort of educational/occupational activities which they have engaged currently….ect.

They were very friendly. So we thought of talking on topics which they want to know from us.
They want us to educate them mainly on menstrual cycle, reproductive health & educational problems. We made up a good rapport with them and educate them. We recognize that they are having few health problems regarding menstrual cycle.
Some problems they didn’t want to discuss in front of our male members.
So at that time boys of our group, leave the room (sorry for the inconvenience guyz)

It was truly a nice experience. The most sensitive part was,
Just before we are leaving one girl came and gave us a piece of paper

Still I couldn’t find words to express the feelings that I felt at that moment…………………
