Community Medicine Clerkship Programme

Objectives 

Community Medicine clerkship is designed to facilitate medical students to gain knowledge, skills and perspectives of community health that are necessary to practice as a doctor in any part of Sri Lanka. 

The specific educational objectives of the clerkship focus on exposing you to preventive health care in Sri Lanka through an understanding of the community context of health, illness and health care.  It is hoped that the clerkship will help foster an informed sense of social responsibility, accountability in you and develop skills and attitudes needed to a become capable, empathic and caring doctor.
