It was our health education program in community medicine clerk ship.Actually, at the beginning i had no idea about the things what we have to do in there..After the session conduct by prof.siwayogan sir & Dr.sampatha madam only i got an idea about the importance and way to organize the event. The place we were given to do the education program was " Shilpa " children development center which is actually a orphanage. We divide our clinical group in to several sub groups and discussed about the topics which we are going to perform there.Sandeepani,Thilini, chamila, madave And myself were in our group and the topic was menstrual hygiene.Since it was quiet sensitive topic ,we had to pay especial concern regarding the facts we are going to discuss there.so we plain to make a questionnaire to asses there knowledge & understanding regarding menstrual hygiene. And we draw some posters to covey our massage more clearly.
On that day all our girls came dressed with sarees and they were simply gorgeous.so i thought its nice to mention it here. Then we went there and they warmly welcome us.They have been divided in to small groups according to ages.so it made our work easy. The age group we select was 13 to 15. Because in that age group we could find lot of girls who have reached their puberty recently.First we introduce ourselves and we tried to break the barrier between two of us as much as possible. We spread our questionnaire among them and helped them to fill it.The knowledge they had regarding menstrual hygiene was not sufficient.Meanwhile Dr.sampatha madam joined us and evaluate our performance. She suggest lot of valuable ides to improve ourselves. We gave very basic knowledge about anatomy and physiology of female reproductive system in a way that they can understand. We conducted the session more like a discussion rather than a speech.Small girls came up with lots of questions which they were shy to ask from their guardians.I think our effort was quiet successful because it was proven by the feed backs they given to us.At the end of our session as we had more time we went to girl by girl and discuss about their problems in very friendly manner.

At the end of day i had huge satisfaction and it was a new experience for us too.Actually in a some point in our career we will have to conduct these type of programs to educate the community. So this is a good exposure and a good experience for us to brush up our presentation skills....
