                                 Visit to a garbage dump 

It was 14/8/2012 2^nd day of clearkship appoiment. We had to visit a garbage pit.when I heard that I thought a unpleasent place that waste products in everywhere with full of flies and mosquitoes.So I didn’t like to go but I had to go there

  We visited to Karadiyana enviormental friendly waste disposal management project which was near to Bolgoda river.Strange  it was not the place I thought. There were garbage mountains. But no unpleasent ordour.Only few flies and mosquitoes.We were warmly welcomed by workers.They explained the procedure to us.

                  They received  average of 500Ton of waste products per day . At the entrance  weighing the vehicle with full of garbage and after unloading to get an idea about  amount of waste.Waste products disposed in a shell system to prevent ordour.100Ton of waste  products daily  used for compose production.They were using pestguards and BIT weekly to control f lies and mosquitoes.But there were problems due to place was near to river.Has a high risk of water pollution of river.

                                      Workers worked  from 8.00am to 9.30pm in 7days of week. I highly appreciated their work because instead of knowing they had high risk of getting diseases they worked in every day in year without a leave.There were  facilities for maintain their health like Issuing safety equipment like helmets,boots gloves etc.Check for diabetes,TB,Filariasis and cholestrol in every 6 months.

            If they received waste products like this area will cover within next 2 years.So they were planing to make a plowerplant to produce electricity in next year.
