               22^nd of august, another day of Clerkship progromme. Actually…… it wasn’t like other days. B’coz…. We had to wear sari (Sari what a big burden to us??????). Ultimately…….However…..we wore them.

             After all those struggles, it was raining just prior to the stepping outside of the boarding place. But however we reached the Shilpa children’s development center, Nawala Rd, Colombo 5 by overcoming all those wearisome...

             It was very tidy and calm place. That pleasant environment wiped off our tiredness.

             Purpose of this journey was to conduct the health education programme at the orphanage.

            Our topic was the menstrual hygiene. We selected 12-15yrs age group, b’coz we thought that they are the most suitable ones who are attempting menarche around this age period.

              There were six girls. We gave a questioner to them to assess the awareness of the topic.

              We divided our topic to in to 4 subtopics.

    -What is the menstruation??

    -The menstrual cycle.

    -Menstrual hygiene.

   -What are the myths?

           At the beginning they were diffident to talk but with the time they became close and friendly. They started to share their experiences.

           They added eternal memories to our mind. Those little kids are under label of orphans. But I couldn’t understand what is the different between them and the kids that far away from the orphanage………………………
