It’s another beautyful day. We went to COLOMBO FRIEND IN NEED which is situated in sir James peiris mawatha Colombo -02. At there, the director welcomed us & gave  us a brief  account about the organization. 

 

It has  begun  in 1831 by Governor sir Edward Barnes.

They are providing humanitarian assistance to disabled

They are providing fallowing facilities to disable people.

• ·       Artificial limbs
• ·        Education grants to disable children.
• ·        Physiotherapy , exercise & gait training
• ·        Self employment grants
• ·        Hostel facilities for people who are coming from distance areas(only transiently)
• ·        Mobil workshops to provide artificial limbs for those who can’t come to Colombo.
•     Aidex annual sport meet
•  

They are received funds from

•    Social service ministry
•    Donors
•    NGOs eg: Lion’s club
•    BOC

The referrals to Colombo friend in need from

•   Walk in basis
•   Gramaniladari
•   MO hospital
•   NGOs
