Child Welfare Clinic

Child welfare clinic provides healh care facilities from birth up to 5 years of age. A neonate should be registered at the clinic after 1 month.(phm advice mother during her home visits). Then up o 2 years of age once a month & once in every three months up to 5 years. CWC ensures as good health as possible for each child. Records are maintained via CHDR.

Basic role and functions  of the child welfare clinic

  • ·       Vaccination program (adverse ets are monitored

     Vaccines in the EPI schedule & vit A. (started @ 6 months, given @ every 66 months up to 5 years)
           
  • ·         Regular growth monitoring

 Weight is monitored in children less than 6 months using “seca “ beam balance.Height is measured @ 4, 9, 18,months & at the age of 3 years.(unless  growth stunning is suspected) Infanometer & somatometer are used to measure the height. Necessary advices given  and interventions are done  for children with growth faltering.

  • ·         Education of good feeding practices


  • ·         Creates awareness and gets parents involved in child growth and development
